Assumption Antipolo School Fair

Hello, 2020! The decade has just begun, yet so many things have already happened and are still ongoing across the globe. Why not pause for a moment and spend some quality time first with family and friends?

Board Games in a Cozy Environment

Last January 31 to February 1, 2020, Play Platter Games, in collaboration with Game Detective, was invited to Assumption Antipolo for the annual school fair. The booth was primarily set up to raise funds through the medium of board games. While there, we were surrounded by such a beautiful, green environment. The area was also very windy, thus making the room very cozy for games.

Spending Time with Students

A wide selection of games was available for play. Among the games is of course, Space Dogs, a fun and easy-to-learn card game about dogs and outer space. Students ranging from 7 to 19 years old found themselves strategizing to be the first to find forever homes for homeless doggos. There were also moments when they would intentionally sabotage their friends’ game play in the hopes of scoring first! Fun times with friendly competition, definitely!

Encouraging Friendly Play and Camaraderie

Amusingly, while playing, they’d get distracted by all the cute dogs in the cards. Forgetting that they are in the middle of a game, they would end up sharing stories about their own puppers. As the developers of Space Dogs, we are extremely happy to see Space Dogs being used as a medium for conversation starters and a means for people to relate more with one another through the discovery of shared interests.

These are just some photos from the event proper. We didn’t take a lot of snaps to respect the privacy of the students. Nevertheless, we all had a splendid time at Assumption! With that said, we end by saying we look forward to seeing more children and families be bonded through games and newfound hobbies! ‘til the next time!
